James Hacking Baldy
Died on 22nd December 1940
On 22nd December 1940, during the Manchester Blitz,
Constable Baldy, who was attached to the Fire Brigade Section of Salford City Police, attended Chapel Street, Salford, where bombs had fallen and exploded.
Upon his arrival a delayed action bomb exploded, causing grave injuries from which he later died.
He was 29.
