Ian Douglas Steen

Died on 26th December 1940

Constable Steen was on duty at East Union Street Police Station, Old Trafford, on 23rd December 1940, during the Manchester Blitz. The station was hit by a landmine, and Constable Steen received serious injuries from which he died on 26th December 1940. Five other officers also lost their lives.

He was 23.
