Henry Bailey
Died on 11th March 1835
Deputy Constable Bailey was sworn in to his role in 1829.
On 11th March 1835 he dived into the River Irwell in Salford, in an attempt to save a boy who had fallen in, but both were swept away and drowned.
Deputy Constable Bailey’s body was not found until 12th September 1835, near to Barton Bridge.
He was 42.
