Albert Dennis Salthouse

Died on 28th July 1952

Detective Constable Salthouse was escorting a prisoner from Rochdale to Salford. They were travelling in a police car driven by another officer. As the vehicle was being driven over Slattocks Bridge in Middleton, it failed to straighten on the slight bend and collided with a lamp standard. Detective Constable Salthouse and the prisoner were killed.

He was 28.
